Everybody is looking for peace. Typically when we say we want peace, what we really want is an absence of storms. One time Jesus spoke to a storm and stilled it, but on another occasion in the midst of a storm, He said, “I’m here. Take courage. Don’t be afraid” (Matt. 14:27). Then He commanded…
In a fast paced world where we want everything now, waiting can be hard. Nothing tries our faith like waiting on God for answers to prayer. If we run ahead of God, we will be painfully chastened by turmoil, exhaustion, and failure. Taking matters in our own hands has ample instructive precedent in God’s Word….
Colossians 1:9 “… we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding.” Be blessed with the Spirit’s wisdom, with being filled with understanding of God’s will and His ways in your life. Be blessed with asking the right questions…
God created the family and the roles of mother and father as a reflection of who He is. Thank you for the ways you have shown God’s Father-heart. You have demonstrated God’s strength, wisdom, and protection. I am proud to call you Dad. While you may have felt at times that your identity is what…
Did you ever notice how many people encountered God face-to-face in their desperation? Think of Abraham at the altar with Isaac, Moses at the burning bush and at the Red Sea, Jacob before meeting Esau, Joshua before a walled city, Gideon before a hostile army, Jehoshaphat before three hostile armies, and David in great trials…
Have you ever tried to walk up a steep terrain? Not an easy task, if you are the first one to attempt it. But if you find a path that someone has walked before you, the climb up the hill is made much easier by walking in the footsteps of the one who came before….
In Luke 22:15 Jesus told His disciples, “I have earnestly and intensely desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer” (Amplified Bible). Listen to the Word of God. “Gideon built an altar to the LORD there and called it The LORD is Peace. To this day it stands…” God said to Gideon, “I am with you, mighty warrior… Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian’s hand… Am I not sending you?… I…
All of us have been hurt by others. Make a quick review of the people in your story. Is there anyone who causes a level of anger or resentment to rise in your heart? While you may feel holding onto resentment and anger punishes the one who hurt you, the painful truth is it is…
Spirit, listen to your Father’s heart from His Word in Deuteronomy 30:19. “I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live.” Be blessed in the name of the One who is life. Your Father is pleased that Jesus His Son lives in…
