Fruit of Faithfulness

Beloved child of God, listen to your Father’s heart and his ways for you in Galatians 5:22-23,25. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control… Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.”

God proclaimed about himself in Exodus 34:6, “The LORD, the LORD, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.” There is no surer testimony in Scripture; your faithful God keeps his covenant of love with you (Deut 7:9). He binds himself to you in his faithful love, and he does no wrong (Deut 32:4). Because of his great love you are not consumed, for his compassions and great faithfulness never fail (Lam 3:22-23). Jesus is the faithful and true witness, whose name is Faithful and True (Rev 3:4; 19:11). He is faithful to keep you in temptation and faithful to forgive you when you fall or fail, because he is a merciful and faithful High Priest. God is faithful to his promises and faithful to strengthen you. He has to remain faithful, because he cannot deny himself.

He speaks his faithfulness into you, so that you are not blown about. Your faithfulness clings to his faithfulness to keep his promises and accomplish his will, for God’s eyes are on his faithful ones (Ps 101:6). Be blessed to stand firm in him, trusting and believing him. Be blessed with knowing the one you have trusted and being persuaded that he will keep you faithful (2 Tim 1:12). Be blessed with letting his steadfastness keep you.

Cling to justice, mercy, and faithfulness which Jesus said were important for you to pursue (Mat 23:23). Paul instructed his spiritual son to fight the good fight and hold on to faithfulness and a good conscience (1 Tim 1:18). He told him to pursue righteousness, faithfulness, love, and peace (2 Tim 2:22). He challenged him to guard the good deposit of faith that God placed in him with the help of the Holy Spirit in him (2 Tim 1:14). Paul held up his own life as an example of teaching, purpose, faith, patience, love, endurance, and sufferings (2 Tim 3:10). By God’s grace, be blessed to make this your testimony, as you faithfully live out who God in Christ is for you.

Many of your tests are not to prove the faithfulness of God, but to prove your faithfulness in spite of hard circumstances. Be blessed to prove true to your faithfulness to God and to others (1 Peter 4:19).

Be blessed to be faithful to the trust that he has given you (1 Cor 4:2). Be blessed to be a wise servant over your Master’s household, whom he calls good and faithful and whom he invites to share his joy (Mat 25:21).

Be blessed with the fruit of faithfulness that the Spirit produces in you,
your appropriate response from his faithfulness to you (Gal 5:22).
