“Why are you downcast, Oh my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God” (Ps. 43:5). “But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. I will sing to the Lord, for he has been good to me” (Ps. 13:5-6).
When things are hard and you don’t understand, be blessed to lift up your head and allow God’s face to shine upon you and receive His peace (Num. 6:25). Nothing takes Him by surprise. He knows the end from the beginning (Isa. 46:9-10). He will never leave you or forsake you. He is with you, a very present help (Heb. 13:5–6; Ps. 46:1).
God is the God of all comfort, your Father of mercies (2 Cor. 1:3–4). Feel His tender heart reaching out to you. He is inviting you to climb up in His lap and find comfort there. He has a heart that tears can touch (Ps. 56:8). Be blessed to bring God all your questions. Pour out your heart to Him. He is your loving Father, full of compassion. He is here for you. If it matters to you, it matters to Him. He cares for you.
Your earthly relationships may have hurt your ability to trust. Allow God to heal your broken truster. He is near the brokenhearted. Like the Psalmist, choose to trust in God’s unfailing love in spite of your circumstances. Ask God to give you a song to sing in the dark times (Ps. 13).
When answers feel delayed or when disappointment tries to overwhelm you, lean into His abundant grace that is more than enough for your every need. Be blessed to trust there is no circumstance or person that the blood of Jesus does not cover. Trust that He will give gladness instead of mourning and praise instead of fainting. Weeping may endure for a night, but He gives joy in the morning (Isa. 61:3; Ps. 30:5).
